Hey, I’m Aaron.
I am a computational biologist at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where I am Director of Bioinformatics for the Transplant Research Institute. My interests include genomics, reproducible research and the R programming language. Check out some of my open source projects on GitHub. Previously, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Genetics at Virginia Commonwealth University. I co-founded VCU’s Data Science Lab with Tim York, which focuses on developing and delivering reproducible data analysis training opportunities for faculty and students.
As a trainee, I completed my PhD work with Michael Miles and post-doc’ed at the Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics.
BTW, I’m not the Aaron Wolen who races motorcycles. However, I’m pretty good at Excite Bike.
